Superpro.ai: How Gaurav Tripathi is Automating the Virtual-First Economy

Gaurav Tripathi - Co-founder of Superpro.ai

In the post-pandemic era, video calls have become the default mode of communication. Yet, while most people see a "meeting," Gaurav Tripathi, Co-founder and CEO of Superpro.ai, sees a "Workflow." By moving beyond simple video links to automated, end-to-end service delivery systems, Gaurav is building the infrastructure for a more sustainable, virtual-first economy. With a billion-conversation goal and a pedigree of 120+ patents, he is proving that the future of work isn't just remote—it's intelligent.

Gaurav Tripathi’s entrepreneurial journey is a story of turning a humble upbringing into high-tech disruption. The son of a police constable who started his career on a ₹200 monthly salary, Gaurav’s path led him to IIT Bombay, where he became "addicted to entrepreneurship." Before Superpro.ai, he was the CTO of Innoplexus, a global AI champion in Life Sciences, where he led a team to file over 120 patents. In 2019, alongside co-founders Sagar Ramteke, Vivek Kumar, and Vijay Goel, he launched Superpro.ai to solve the "Operational Friction" of delivering complex services over video.

The 120-Patent Pedigree

Gaurav isn't just a founder; he is a deep-tech inventor. With 35 personal patents in AI, computer vision, and NLP, he brings an "Automation-First" mindset to video communication. He believes that the next phase of SaaS isn't about the tools, but about the "Choice" and the "Experience" integrated into a business's existing website.

The Problem: Video Calls without Workflows

For an EdTech teacher or a Telehealth doctor, "Zoom" is only 10% of the job. The real pain lies in the other 90%: scheduling the session, connecting the calendar, collecting payments, sharing notes, and gathering feedback. Traditionally, businesses have had to manually stitch together 5-6 different tools, leading to high overheads and a disjointed customer experience. Large giants like Microsoft and Google offer tools, but they don't offer "Solutions" tailored to a specific business's service journey.

"We realized that humanity needed to take a pause," Gaurav explains. "Billions of dollars were being wasted on fuel just to meet people. We wanted to make video communication so simple and integrated that businesses would choose it not just for safety, but for sustainability and profit."

The Solution: Technology-Agnostic Workflows

Superpro.ai acts as the "Middle Layer" for service delivery. Instead of building another video calling app, they provide the workflows that wrap around existing technologies. Their platform is technology agnostic—allowing a business to choose between Zoom SDK, Agora, or Webrtc depending on their pricing and reliability needs.

The Superpro.ai Service Lifecycle

  1. Discovery & Listing: Providers list live courses or consultation slots on their own branded platform.
  2. Automated Scheduling: Direct integration with calendars ensures no double-bookings or manual links.
  3. Seamless Payment: Integrated payment gateways collect fees before the session starts.
  4. The Experience: High-definition video powered by the provider of choice (Zoom, Agora, etc.) with in-call note-sharing.
  5. Post-Call Closure: Automated feedback ratings, certificates, or prescription delivery to close the loop.
"Success isn't about building a box and pushing it to the market. It's about sitting with founders, listening to their problems, and helping them build the right virtual workflow for their unique service." — Gaurav Tripathi

The Hustle: Proving Value Without a Product

Gaurav’s approach to Superpro.ai was lean and prudent. On "Day Zero," the team had no product. Instead, they built an MVP by manually scheduling Zoom sessions and manually collecting payments via Razorpay for their first set of users. When people started saying "Thank you," they knew they had a business. This "Do things that don't scale" phase allowed them to understand the exact points of friction before investing in automated code.

"I still drive the same 100cc Splendor bike I bought in college," Gaurav reflects. "I value repair and reuse. That same frugality is how we managed the 2020 lockdowns. We were prudent, the team took salary cuts, and we focused on building a company that rides the growth of our smallest startup clients."

Superpro.ai Scale & Strategy

  • $1.2 Million Funding: Backed by SOSV (MOX), IvyCap Ventures, and ah! Ventures.
  • 1 Billion Conversations: The ultimate impact goal to replace carbon-heavy physical travel.
  • Technology Agnostic: Integrated with Zoom SDK, Agora, and custom Webrtc stacks.
  • Double Compounding: Revenue tied directly to the exponential growth of their startup clients.

Lessons in Leadership: Ownership of Mistakes

Gaurav believes that the only way to succeed is to hire people smarter than yourself. However, he warns against micromanagement. He advocates for giving team members the "Freedom to commit mistakes," noting that true ownership only comes when an employee isn't afraid of being fired for an honest error. For Gaurav, a founder's job is to set the ambitious dream—like changing the world—and then step back to let the experts figure out the "How."

"If you don't dream about changing the world, you'll never act upon it," he says. "We look for people who don't just want a career path, but a mission. Skills can be taught; attitude is the only thing that's non-negotiable."

Founder's Lesson: Start Now, Start Soon

Gaurav advises budding entrepreneurs to ignore the "Financial Risk" debate. "I looked at my father's life—he started as a constable on ₹200 a month and managed to raise a family and buy a house. With my education and background, I knew I couldn't do any worse. The right time to start is always now."

The Future: The Global Service Gdp

Gaurav’s vision for Superpro.ai is to drive a worldwide surge in the "Services GDP." He cites examples of parents in California getting piano lessons for their children from coaches in Kochi. By removing geographical boundaries, he believes we are entering an age of "Slack for the World," where talent sitting in Africa or India can serve clients in Europe or the US with zero overhead. For Gaurav, the goal is simple: to make work virtual-first, sustainable, and truly global.

Superpro.ai is proving that the next generation of global infrastructure is being built in India. By turning a video call into a mission-critical workflow, Gaurav Tripathi and his team are ensuring that for the future of work, the only thing that needs to travel is the data.
